Mais de 30 bairros das cidades de Maputo, Matola e Marracuene enfrentam limitações no fornecimento de água desde o dia 21 de Março, devido a uma falha registada no sistema de Sábié, segundo informou a Águas da Região Metropolitana de Maputo (AdeM).
A origem do problema está associada a uma descarga atmosférica que provocou danos numa linha de energia eléctrica, afectando uma infra-estrutura subterrânea de média tensão e levando à paralisação da Estação de Tratamento de Água. Como consequência, a produção foi reduzida, condicionando o abastecimento nas zonas abrangidas.
Entre os bairros afectados encontram-se Machava Sede, T3, Bunhiça, Liberdade, Fomento, Zona Verde, Infulene “A” e “D”, Patrice Lumumba, Acordos de Lusaka, Vale do Infulene, Singathela, Tsalala, Malhampsene, Tchumene 1 e 2, Mulotana Bill, Sikwama, Mussumbuluco, Agostinho Neto, Magoanine “A”, “B” e “C”, Albazine, Chiango, Muntanhane, Mahotas, Zintava e Mapulene.
A AdeM assegura que equipas técnicas estão no terreno a trabalhar na reposição do sistema, com intervenções em curso na infra-estrutura afectada e mobilização de recursos para acelerar a normalização do fornecimento.
Entretanto, a instituição apela ao consumo responsável de água por parte dos moradores das áreas afectadas, enquanto decorrem os trabalhos para resolver a situação. (Vozafricano)
