O Presidente da República, Filipe Nyusi, deu início esta quinta-feira ao processo de transformação do Centro de Saúde de Moatize em Hospital Distrital, marcando um passo significativo na expansão dos serviços de saúde na província de Tete. A cerimónia simbolizou o compromisso do Governo em reforçar a capacidade de atendimento médico numa das regiões com maior crescimento populacional do país.
A obra, orçada em mais de 5,5 milhões de dólares, será financiada pela mineradora VULCN, no quadro das ações de responsabilidade social da empresa. A futura unidade hospitalar pretende melhorar o acesso da comunidade a cuidados essenciais, reduzir transferências para outras zonas e oferecer maior dignidade no atendimento clínico.
Além do arranque das obras, o Chefe do Estado destacou desafios estratégicos enfrentados pela província de Tete, sobretudo no que se refere à pressão migratória e à vulnerabilidade fronteiriça. Nyusi alertou que a posição geográfica da região facilita a circulação irregular de pessoas e potencia o aumento de crimes transfronteiriços.
O Presidente revelou que, nos últimos cinco anos, foram registadas milhares de violações de fronteira, associadas ao tráfico de seres humanos, terrorismo, branqueamento de capitais e outras atividades ilícitas. Para as autoridades, estes dados reforçam a necessidade de melhorar simultaneamente as infraestruturas de justiça e segurança pública.
Ainda durante a sua visita à província, Filipe Nyusi inaugurou o novo Tribunal Judicial Distrital de Chiuta, um edifício moderno que inclui sala de audiências, gabinetes funcionais, cartórios e áreas de deliberação. A infraestrutura custou cerca de 65 milhões de meticais e visa fortalecer o acesso à justiça e acelerar a resolução de processos naquela jurisdição.
Com estas iniciativas, o Governo reforça a aposta em serviços públicos essenciais — saúde, justiça e segurança — garantindo melhores condições de vida para as comunidades e maior estabilidade institucional em toda a província de Tete.
