As vítimas das recentes inundações no distrito de Boane, província de Maputo, poderão beneficiar da construção de cerca de 50 casas, no âmbito de uma iniciativa anunciada por organizações de cariz humanitário que prestam apoio às famílias afectadas pela intempérie.
A garantia foi dada esta semana por representantes da Fundação Honório Kutane e da Fundação Internacional Mão da Compaixão, durante actos de entrega de bens de primeira necessidade às populações acolhidas em centros de reassentamento temporário, com destaque para o Centro Felipe Samuel Magaia, que funciona numa escola com o mesmo nome.
Durante a ação humanitária, as fundações procederam à distribuição de mais de 200 colchões, cerca de mil chapas de zinco e diversos produtos alimentares, numa tentativa de responder de forma imediata às necessidades básicas das famílias que perderam as suas casas ou viram as mesmas severamente danificadas pelas cheias.
Segundo os promotores da iniciativa, a futura construção das habitações visa garantir uma solução mais duradoura e digna para as famílias afectadas, numa altura em que Boane continua a enfrentar os impactos das chuvas intensas que provocaram o transbordo de rios e a destruição de infra-estruturas sociais e residenciais.
Até ao momento, não foram avançados prazos concretos para o início das obras, nem detalhes sobre o financiamento ou eventuais parcerias institucionais. As organizações envolvidas referem, no entanto, que o projecto faz parte de um esforço mais amplo de solidariedade com as comunidades vulneráveis da região.
As inundações que atingiram Boane nas últimas semanas deixaram centenas de famílias desalojadas, aumentando a pressão sobre os centros de acomodação temporária e reforçando os apelos por apoio humanitário e soluções de reassentamento sustentável. (Vozafricano)
