A Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) anunciou interrupções no fornecimento de energia elétrica entre os dias 8 e 10 de abril, numa operação que vai abranger várias províncias e atingir bairros estratégicos, tanto em zonas urbanas como periurbanas, sob justificativa de trabalhos de manutenção nas infraestruturas.
Na cidade de Maputo, os cortes estão previstos para quarta-feira, afetando áreas como Malhangalene, Coop e Polana Cimento B, num período que poderá coincidir com o pico de atividades comerciais. Em Sofala, bairros da Munhava e Pioneiros também entram na lista, com interrupções que se estendem por várias horas, enquanto em Nampula e na província de Maputo, distritos e comunidades inteiras serão afetados ao longo do dia.
Para quinta-feira, o cenário amplia-se com cortes prolongados na província de Maputo, incluindo zonas como Matadouro, Incomanini, Corumana e Sabie, além de áreas densamente povoadas como Matola, Ndlavela e Khongolote. Já em Gaza, localidades como Chicumbane e Chissano também entram no plano de interrupções, com impacto direto em residentes e pequenos negócios.
Na sexta-feira, as intervenções concentram-se novamente na cidade de Nampula, repetindo cortes em distritos e postos administrativos que já haviam sido afetados no início da semana, sinalizando uma operação mais prolongada do que o habitual.
A EDM alerta que, por razões de segurança, todas as instalações devem ser consideradas sob tensão, uma vez que o fornecimento pode ser restabelecido antes do horário previsto. A empresa reconhece os transtornos, mas defende que as intervenções são necessárias para evitar falhas maiores no sistema elétrico nacional, num contexto em que consumidores continuam a enfrentar cortes frequentes e a questionar a estabilidade do fornecimento no país. | POR : DOMINGOS ABÍLIO |
