O presidente da ANAMOLA, Venâncio Mondlane, visitou neste domingo os bairros de Nkobe e Matola C, na província de Maputo, áreas recentemente afetadas pelas cheias provocadas pela chuva intensa que tem assolado a região.
Durante a deslocação, Mondlane manteve contacto direto com famílias atingidas, que relataram perdas de habitações, bens domésticos e dificuldades no acesso a condições básicas. Em Nkobe, moradores apontaram a incerteza quanto ao realojamento e à reposição de serviços essenciais, enquanto na Matola C foram registados danos significativos em residências localizadas em zonas de maior risco.
A visita teve como objetivo avaliar no terreno o impacto das inundações e ouvir as principais preocupações das comunidades afetadas. Em declarações feitas no local, Venâncio Mondlane defendeu a necessidade de maior atenção às populações que vivem em áreas vulneráveis, sublinhando a importância de respostas coordenadas para mitigar os efeitos das cheias.
O presidente da ANAMOLA esteve acompanhado pela Primeira-Dama, Francelina Mondlane. Segundo a organização, a deslocação enquadra-se em ações de acompanhamento social desenvolvidas junto de comunidades afetadas por fenómenos naturais.
As cheias em vários pontos da província de Maputo voltam a expor desafios relacionados com o ordenamento territorial, drenagem urbana e políticas de habitação, num contexto em que o período chuvoso continua a afetar milhares de famílias. (Paula)
